Competency-based curriculum (KBK) are plans and arrangements concerning competence to strive for learners, teaching and learning activities, assessment and utilization of educational resources. Competence in KBK is a knowledge, skills, attitudes-attitudes and values that must be mastered learners and is reflected in the habit of thinking and acting.
Methods Development in KBK, namely :
· Research
· Dissemination
· Development
New about KBK is :
1. emphasize the balance between the development of an attitude or morality. Academic competence, life skills, arts and sports,
2. focus the proficiency to communicate through spoken language and write and communicate,
3. the formulation of clear competency standards,
4. Learning is contextual,
5. changes to the teacher or instructor's function as a facilitator of learning.
The size of the minimal capabilities that include knowledge, skills and attitudes that must be achieved, is well known, and performed by students at every level of the subjects. Basic skills should be mastered students to reach the standard of competence (intact) was specified. The subject matter of the study material can be either a field of learning, content, processes, skills, or the context of an academic subjects. An indicator of the delivery of basic capabilities more specific can be used as a measure to assess learning graduation.
